Gynecologist
Dr. Stransky is a diplomate of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a certified daVinci Surgical System surgeon, and an educator with expertise in cancers of the female genital tract. For Alaska Women’s Cancer Care, Dr. Stransky assists in surgery and serves as a hospitalist for patients at Providence Alaska Medical Center and Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage.
As Professor of OB GYN at the University of Washington (UW), he teaches medical students and Providence Family Practice residents rotating through Alaska and provides public lectures at the Providence Cancer Center.
Education
Dr. Stransky graduated from Stanford University and received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Stransky interned at Swedish Hospital in Seattle and completed his Ob-Gyn residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Stransky began his medical career as an airborne battalion surgeon with the US Army and the School of the Americas in Panama. Founded in 1980, his private gynecology practice in Anchorage featured the latest evidence-based medical and surgical treatments. An associate member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, Dr. Stransky joined AKWCC in 2012.
Interests
Dr. Stransky volunteers for Fireweed 400, Clean Air Challenge, Gold Nugget Triathlon, Cancer Care Alliance, Catholic Social Services, and Special Olympics. A former Olympic water polo player, he continues to participate in FINA World Masters championships. He has completed the Kona Ironman World Triathlon Championship eight times and enjoys photography as a hobby. Dr. Stransky has two adult children.
